Managing Terms in the CBSE Exam Module


In the CBSE Exam system, a Term represents a specific academic period (e.g., Term 1, Term 2). The system allows the creation of multiple terms, whose results are aggregated to determine a student's final annual performance.

Accessing the Term Management Page

To begin managing terms, log in to the InfixEdu Super Admin Panel and navigate to:

CBSE Examination > Terms (located in the left sidebar).

1. Adding a New Term

Follow these steps to define a new academic term:

  1. Navigate to the Terms List page.

  2. Click the + ADD TERM button located in the top-right corner.

  3. In the Add Term modal, provide the following details:

  • Name: The formal name of the term (e.g., First Semester).

  • Code: A unique short-code for internal identification (e.g., T1).

  • Description: Brief details regarding the term's scope.

Click Save. The term will now appear in your Term List.


2. Editing an Existing Term

If you need to update term details, follow these steps:

  1. In the Terms List, locate the specific term you wish to modify.

  2. Under the Action column on the right, click the Select button and choose Edit.

  3. Update the Name, Code, or Description in the Edit Term modal.

  4. Click Save to apply the changes.


3. Deleting a Term

To permanently remove a term from the system:

  1. Locate the term in the Terms List.

  2. In the Action column, click the Select button and choose Delete.

  3. A Delete Confirmation modal will appear; click Delete to confirm the removal.

Deleting a term is permanent. Ensure no active examinations or student records are linked to the term before proceeding.






Managing Assessments in the CBSE Exam Module

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for creating, modifying, and managing assessments in the CBSE Exam module. Proper configuration ensures that student marks are correctly categorized for theory, practicals, and internal evaluations.

1. Creating a New Assessment

Follow these steps to define a new assessment category.

  1. Navigate to Assessment >CBSE Exam > Assessments. The Assessments List page will load.

  2. Open the Form: Click the [+ Add Assessment] button located in the top-right corner of the screen. This will trigger the Add Assessment modal.

  3. Enter Primary Details:

  • Name: Enter the title of the assessment (e.g., Unit Test 1 or Final Theory).

  • Description: Provide a brief summary of the assessment's scope.

Configure Assessment Types:
In the bottom section of the modal, define the specific components:

  • Assessment Type: Specify if this is Theory, Practical, Viva, etc.

  • Code: Enter the unique identifier for this type.

  • Maximum Marks: Input the total weightage for this component.

  • Pass Percentage: Set the minimum threshold required to pass.
    Description: Enter the description.

Manage Multiple Components:

  • To Add: Click the [+] icon to generate additional input rows for multiple components.

  • To Remove: Click the (-) icon on the right side of a specific row to delete that entry.

Save: Click the [Save] button to add the assessment to your list.


2. Editing an Existing Assessment

Use this process to update marks, names, or pass percentages for existing records.

  1. Locate Record: Navigate to the Assessments List.

  2. Select Edit: Under the Action column on the right, click the Select button and choose Edit for the desired assessment.

  3. Modify Details: The Edit Assessment modal will open. Update the relevant fields as needed.

  4. Commit Changes: Click [Save] to update the record. The changes will be reflected immediately in the Assessment List.


3. Deleting an Assessment

[!CAUTION]

Deleting an assessment is permanent. Ensure no student marks are currently linked to an assessment before deleting it.

  1. Select Delete: In the Action column, click the Select button and choose Delete.

  2. Confirm Deletion: A Delete Confirmation modal will appear asking for verification.

  3. Finalize: Click [Delete]. The system will remove the record and display a success message.
