How to Take Student Attendance in University Module

Student Attendance

Student attendance is a record of who is present in class. It helps teachers track students and ensures they attend regularly. Attendance can be taken manually or using digital tools.

From here you can mark the student's attendance. To mark the attendance follow the below steps:

  • Session: Select the session.

  • Faculty: Select the faculty.

  • Department: Select the department.

  • Academic Year: Select the academic year.

  • Semester: Select the semester.

  • Semester Label: Select the semester label.

  • Section: Select the section.

  • Attendance Date: Choose the specific date on which you want to record student attendance. 

  • Search: Click the button to see the attendance sheet.


After clicking the search button you can see the attendance sheet. To record attendance to the sheet just follow the below steps:

  • Present: Click the checkbox to mark the student as present.

  • Late: Click the checkbox to mark the student as late.

  • Absent: Click the checkbox to mark the student as absent.
    Half-day: Click the checkbox to mark the student as attending for half the day.

  • Mark Holiday: If you click on the button then the date will be marked as holiday.

  • Note: If you want to add any type of additional note. You can note it here.

  • Save Attendance: Click to save the attendance to your record.


Import Attendance: You can record all the student attendance by using the import student function. To import attendance first click on the button follow the below steps:

  • Download Sample File: First download a sample excel file by clicking the download sample file button. Then input all the student attendance records to the excel file. Now your file is ready for import.

  • Session: Select the session for which you want to import the attendance file.

  • Faculty: Select the faculty responsible for the students whose attendance you want to import. 

  • Academic Year: Select the academic year.

  • Semester: Select the semester for which you want to record the attendance.

  • Semester Label: Select the semester label.

  • Section: Select the section.

  • Attendance Date: Set the attendance date for which you want to record the attendance.

  • Excel File: Browse and upload the excel file.

  • Import Attendance: Click the button to successfully record the attendance.
